Shipping Administrator Job in Christchurch

Our successful and established client based in the Christchurch area is recruiting a Shipping Administrator. Within this role, you will be responsible for managing the shipping process from start to finish, from quoting clients, booking shipments, managing documentation flow, ensuring customs procedures are completed and the goods get delivered safely and on time. The Shipping Administrator will be actively involved in shipping to and from the UK. This is truly an interesting role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Create deliveries, export documentation and commercial invoices

* Arranging Exports and Imports with freight forwarders by using various web-based applications, email or by phone,

* Obtaining quotes as required

* Maintaining agreed rates for freight

* Checking/authorising supplier invoices and raising queries where required

* Checking VAT statements

* Electronic filing and logging of all invoices

* Adhoc administration for the warehouse

Skills and Experience Required:

* Knowledge of exporting/importing procedures

* Excellent I.T skills including Word and Excel

* To be well organised

* Have good attention to detail

* Excellent interpersonal skills

* To use initiative and work well within a team-based environment

Salary and Benefits:

* £24,000 – £28,000 per annum

* Monday to Friday working hours

* Pension
