A one stop shop in Brighton that caters for all their client’s leisure boating requirements is looking for a Marine Engineer/Technician to provide all maintenance and repair works.
You will be joining a team which possess a broad range of skills, knowledge and experience spanning the leisure marine trades, which is proven in the market leading dealerships that have been awarded to them such as Volvo Penta, Mercury, Mercuriser, Yanmar and Beta Marine.
As a Marine Engineer/Technician, your responsibilities will include:
Servicing, diagnosing, repairing and maintenance of all engines.
Travelling to marina or dock where the vessel/job is located across local area to Brighton.
Testing the performance of engines and electrical systems.
Carrying out services and minor repairs on outboard, inboard, and commercial engines.
Conducting plumbing and intake repairs and troubleshooting engine and electrical problems.
Replacing broken or worn-out engine parts, carrying out rebuilds.
Repairing faulty hydraulic and steering systems.
Conducting electrical/AC system maintenance.
Completing service records, timesheets, repair documents and reports.
Planning daily jobs and working diary throughout day for updates.
Cross-selling and upselling wherever possible (Volvo Penta Easy Connect, batteries, engine services, belts, coolant change, etc).
Liaising with Parts & Warranty Manager to identify required parts for jobs, and source from stock or order from supplier as required.
We are looking for a Marine Engineer/Technician who has the following skills and experiences:
Experience in the leisure boating industry and will well-known brands such as Volvo Penta, Yanmar, Mercury and Webasto is ESSENTIAL.
Extensive previous and proven practical experience as a marine mechanic in the small boat leisure industry.
Brand knowledge including Volvo Penta, Yanmar, Mercury/Mercruiser.
Sound knowledge of marine engine and electrical auxiliary systems.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and related parts.
Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.
Knowledge of boat steering systems.
Good technology skills including computer use, notes writing, etc.
Strong numeracy and literacy skills, with good English and Maths.
Excellent communication skills with a customer focused approach.

You will be working 40 hours per week, 08:00-16:30, Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays and some out-of-hours call outs.
