Temporary Shipping Administrator – North Manchester
Based in North Manchester, our client is an established engineering firm that offers a great working environment. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Administrator to join and support a busy shipping department. This is a temporary role to cover maternity leave that will start immediately and will last for 9-12 months. This is an office-based role, working 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
THE JOB:
Reporting to the Shipping Manager, as Shipping Administrator your responsibilities will include:
Liaising with suppliers to arrange shipments.
Liaising internally with all departments to ensure shipments are approved and shipped out in a timely manner to meet customer schedules.
Liaising with freight forwarders.
Following the shipping process from supplier to delivery point.
Creating shipping documents for export.
Checking import shipping documents received from Origin.
Sending clearance instructions to freight forwarders.
Monitoring shipments to destination, keeping accurate records and recording arrival information.
THE PERSON:
The ideal applicant will have some previous administration experience and excellent customer service skills. You will require excellent communications skills and the ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally. You will also need to be familiar and confident when using all the MS Office package. Knowledge of HS codes/Commodity codes would be an advantage, but this is not essential
