Shipping Marketing Analyst


To provide necessary analysis within the Corporate Marketing and Project Management department in order to support management in the visibility, monitoring and development of existing and new business strategy.


* Market Intelligence Research: To source data, monitor the trend, provide commentary and to report on associated economic outlook, market environment, trade growth, supply (capacity) & demand (volume), competitor comparisons (within legal framework), volume and commodity trend analysis and any other ad-hoc market intelligence upon request in order to support management requirements.

* Project Management Studies: To provide any further in-depth market data to support related project subjects.

* Marketing/PR: In conjunction with HQ, to create/maintain/update/distribute high quality customer presentational literature to support Commercial Teams in their promotion of company structure, and create any other forms of Company promotional materials such as advertisements, promotions, events, questionnaires and surveys.

* E-Business: Key European coordinator responsible for the maintenance and growth of all e-ratio KPI’s in Europe, and provide each nation office/agent with sufficient and regular e-biz trend analysis, sales leads and guidelines to support the e-Biz growth in their nation.

* Social Media: In conjunction with HQ, responsible of the maintenance of the Company’s social media outlets, increasing brand awareness through regular PR postings.

* Management Meeting Material Collateral: The preparation and production of management meeting content on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis and to share updates on regular subscribed trends such as volume, commodity and schedule integrity

* KPI Performance Evaluation/Review: To monitor cross departmental performance evaluation of offices/agents by related KPI

* Trade Management Pricing Support: Peripheral support, as required, for Outbound Pricing function in the Med/Asia weekly eastbound trade route.



* Education & Qualifications – Preferably educated to A level standard or equivalent shipping related qualification coursework

* Background & Experience – +5 years’ experience within a major Shipping Line, preferably at HQ, European HQ or Regional HQ level within Marketing related role.


* Able to Deliver – Delivering high quality work, to specification and on time. Ability to prioritise and manage expectations internally and externally often to strict deadlines.

* Customer Care – Review with local office Management to ensure needs have been met

* Team Working – Provide guidance to influence team members to enable delegation of work enabling commitment from the team towards departmental goals and objectives

* Communication – High quality written and oral communication. Effective with relationships at all levels and across different nationalities & cultures. Ability to convey HMM professionally towards external contacts.

* Computer Skills – The ability to create a high quality of illustrative materials in Microsoft PowerPoint, Advanced analytical skill in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word as well as in-house operating systems

* Languages – Other languages useful but not essential

* Organisational Skills – Ability to obtain the maximum effort from the team to manage departmental workload, attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload – accuracy is paramount

* Initiative – Able to think creatively, act on own initiative and judgement

* Good Analytical Skills – Essential


* Any Marketing and/or Liner Shipping related, advantageous
