Shipping Customs Coordinator - (UK Based)

Shipping Customs Coordinator – Permanent – UK Based – £28k-£30k plus £4k allowance

This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable shipping agency who are experiencing a sustained period of growth. The role can be remote or based out of one of the UK based port agency offices

This is a newly created position and will form a specialist customs operation with initial focus on serving existing accounts in the O&G shipping sector but with plans to diversify. The aim is to expand and develop a dedicated team, of which the role holder will be a key and founding member.

Responsibilities include:

Liaise with local port agency offices and designated clients in the handling of day-to-day customs clearance operations.
Request necessary export or import documentation, such as customs invoices, certificates of origin, Bills of Lading etc.
Create and submit import and export declarations using the customs declaration system, ASM Sequoia.
Access CHIEF directly for updating and managing customs entries.
Access Port Community systems to assist local port offices with the manifesting of vessels and cargo.
Manage the customs implications for domestic UK cruises such as identifying applicable voyages, calculating the duty and tariff payments owed on bonded store consumption and submission of W50 Form.
Ensure excellent services are provided to all customers by responding in accordance with the agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA) and keeping the customer regularly informed throughout Experience Required:

In-depth knowledge of customs processes, procedures and regulations ideally in a shipping environment.
Experience of using customs software.
An understanding of shipping documentation
Holds a Customs qualification (desirable) or willing to work towards qualification.
Able to effectively manage own work and work unsupervised
Hold a full UK driving license and be willing to travel across the UK to visit port agency offices and meet with customers. You must have the right to work in the UK to be considered.
