£20,000 – £21,000 PER ANNUM

MONDAY TO FRIDAY, 8.30AM – 5.00PM

PERMANENT POSITION

BASED IN FENTON, STOKE-ON-TRENT

KPI Recruiting have the pleasure of working exclusivily with an extremely well known retailer based in the heart of Stoke on Trent. We are looking for a Shipping Coordinator to support the continued development of their Import Shipping Department! Job Duties

The Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for providing efficient administrative and clerical support to the Shipping Supervisor which includes:

Checking and controlling essential shipping documentation required by customers and suppliers.
Updating and maintaining accurate shipping information in our Navision system, on Departmental Spreadsheets and occasionally Freight Forwarder systems.
Track vessel and container movement following inspections and monitoring container arrival to avoid issues and related costs.
Assisting with transport arrangements by Sea, Air and Road and updating relevant portals and departmental records.
Assisting with the scheduling of container deliveries and resolving queries/problems.
Handle all 3rd party invoices liaising closely with the accounts dept for payments
Booking in deliveries to our various warehouses within our set booking structure.
Regular liaison with receiving warehouses, freight forwarders, accounts dept and our China Office. Payment tracking to ensure goods are telex released in good time, in liaison with China Shipping contacts.
Support with various other administrative duties within the department as dictated by the Dept Manager.
             Experience & Qualities Required

Previous clerical/administrative experience in the shipping sector but applicants with similar experience in a busy demanding office will also be considered.
High level of speed and accuracy with excellent attention to detail
A can do attitude, and able to take the initiative to resolve problems and initiate processes for continued improvement in the Dept
Good computer skills and fully competent with Microsoft Word and Excel
