Shipping Coordinator

Purpose of role: To assist in shipping / logistic function. Close attention to outbound documentary flow and customer credit control to ensure timely receipt of payments from customers.

Summary of Duties:

Working in a busy Shipping/Logistics department of 5 people, your role will include:

Opening of new physical paper contract / shipping files.
Assisting in preparing shipment schedule updates to various customers on a regular basis.
Managing credit control excel/spreadsheet with data from contract management system and shipping administration team.
Closely liaising with finance team and keeping on top of customer payments receipts and where necessary chasing overdues.
Monitoring vessel arrival schedules and updating shipping team / risk as required.
Cover for shipping team (invoicing, entering supplier details) as required.
Cover telephone / office administration when required.
Logging Original bills of laden received into the office.
Printing and processing of outgoing bank documentary presentations and following up status of bank processing to ensure timely delivery of docs to customers or negotiations under LCs.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritise and organise work to strict deadlines consistently.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Comfortable and able to work productively within a small office.
