At the forefront of innovation, my client is a global manufacturer of glass components who is looking to secure a Shipping Coordinator for their logistics and supply chain team

Reporting directly into the head of Purchase and Supply chain, working within a busy Shipping team, the candidate will possess strong shipping experience, have excellent communication skills, and have an all-round knowledge of the compliance requirements for UK Import and Export.

The successful candidates will be responsible for coordinating Shipping for the business whilst working as part of the shipping team, dealing directly with Freight Forwarders, understanding shipping routes, booking transport, dealing with customer orders.

Main Responsibilities:

Supporting the Import/Export team to ensure the smooth workflow.
Working with international clients to ensure shipments reach customer destinations within the agreed time frame.
Processing administrative tasks and updating the CRM system with the relevant information.
Dealing with customer orders directly, managing warehouse to ensure distribution is timely and correct in line with compliance (paperwork, administration, systems updates) updating clients directly of any changes.
Booking transport directly with Freight Forwarders, ensuring all documentation is up to date and compliant.The candidate:

Experience of working with freight forwarders shipping (containers and trailers)
Knowledge of HMRC guidelines for Import/Export from UK to EU.
Working knowledge of Descartes e-Customs system or similar is highly advantageous.
