Senior Project  Freight Forwarder

Senior Project Forwarder role – Exeter

Our client is an international freight forwarding specialist based in Exeter, well established and part of privately owned UK owned shipping group with 25 offices around the UK. Specialising in project cargo, abnormal loads, out of gauge, container shipping and cross-trading on a truly global basis as well as day to day freight forwarding.
Based in central Exeter, Devon with all the advantages of a city centre location. Good transport links, shopping, and accommodation.

We are looking to appoint a senior freight forwarder happy to work on own initiative and lead a small team. Dealing with key clients from initial enquiry to closing of file, invoicing out and P&L. Ideally experienced in project cargo, out of gauge or abnormal load shipping. Ideally already working in project forwarding environment but a good solid freight knowledge is an absolute must. Willing to consider a candidate who can demonstrate transferable skills from within the industry.

Key Requirements

* Sound global freight knowledge and good solid experience of container shipping market
* Knowledge and proven experience of moving out of gauge equipment, breakbulk and coaster shipment with all attendant facets (Road transport, lashing / securing, lifting, agency, customs etc.)
* Commercially astute and able to manage shipments start to finish.
* Good customer service attitude with attention to detail. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Works well leading, and as part of a small team and able to work to tight deadlines.
* Provide accurate and timely reporting of information to customers including sending
quotations, pricing, costing, shipping details and supply chain related documentation
* Understanding of UK customs system and conversant with key areas.


* £30,000 – £40,000 circa
