Bennett and Game are currently working with a leading Multi-modal Freight & Logistics firm actively recruiting a Sea Freight Coordinator to join their Buckinghamshire team.
Sea Freight Coordinator Position Overview
Leading the Ocean Freight department you will be at the forefront of the growth of the team meaning excellent and real progression opportunities are available in this role.
You will work closely with senior management within the business to grow and manage Ocean Freight operations within the business. This will include both Import & Export operations, dealing with 3rd party hauliers (both UK and international), quoting and negotiating rates and working with transport and warehouse departments to manage goods in and out.
Good customs knowledge is essential however documentation will be done externally.
Another key element of the role will be to liaise with internal and external clients/forwarders handling Sea Freight processes and have confidence to offer guidance to clients accordingly. As well as general Sea Freight Coordinator duties such as collecting payments, booking jobs, quoting and pricing and general office admin.
Sea Freight Coordinator Position Requirements
Proven experience in Ocean Imports & Exports from start to finish – Essential
Knowledge and experience in Customs – Desirable not essential
Excellent customer service skills – Essential
Excellent computer literacy
Experience in Quoting & Booking jobs – Essential
Experience in dealing with Forwarders / 3rd party firms – Highly Desirable
Sea Freight Coordinator Position Remuneration
Salary DOE – £27 – 35k
Monday – Friday (office hrs)
