First Achieve are currently recruiting on behalf of our key partner Client a successful Multi-Modal Freight Forwarder for position of Commercial Assistant within their commercial team, to support their continued growth in line with Strategic Development Plans based at their Glasgow office (Flexibility to work 2 days at home and 3 from office).
Keen to speak with candidates with experience in Sales Support or Operations within the International Freight Forwarding sector, ideally within Ocean, you will be responsible for supporting existing clients with pricing, quotations and service advice. Participating in rate negotiations with suppliers, partners and clients you will be supported to deliver commercial profitability for the business.
Please note this is purely a support role and will not involve any cold sales calls.
Main responsibilities of the role:
Managing and responding to sales enquiries existing client base.
Following up on inbound quotations and enquiries.
Supporting Business Development Managers
Work with overseas freight forwarding partners to create mutually beneficial business opportunities.
Develop strong partnership with commercial team and operations team.
Update the company CRM with sales activity.
Support the operations team with existing business.
Key skills and experience required:
Experienced in International Freight Forwarding Sales or Operations.
Understanding of Shipping Lines and markets
Excellent people skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, to communicate both written and verbally.
