Sales Manager – European Road Freight

Our client is a major player in the European Logistics market, they have seen significant growth over the last four decades and have expanded their business to offer Logistics & Customs Documentation Services to both British & European manufacturers.

We are now seeking an experienced and motivated European Road Freight Sales Person who is looking for sustainable career progression in their next role

The role requires:

– Existing client development, maximising the business potential.
– Identifying potential new business market sectors
– Helping to design and produce specific Customs focused presentations tailored to client's needs.
– Targeting relevant Logistics Managers/Supply Chain Managers.
– New business sales canvassing for volume export or import traffics.
– Preparing presentations and quotes for new business.
– Visiting prospective clients in the UK and in Europe.
– Account management will be required for specific clients.
– Opening credit accounts for new clients.
– Helping to manage a small but dynamic sales team.
– Helping the Operations team to solve commercial problems.

After a brief initial training period, the job would involve the research and identification of suitable manufacturers and industries to target, this would include both existing and prospective clients.

Ongoing training will be needed to properly understand the complexities and specific requirements of international transport since Brexit.

The successful candidate will be both persuasive and forceful with:

– Sales experience at a senior level negotiating new business gains of typically £15-£20K plus.
– Excellent communication skills, and telephone manner.
– New business sales background.
– The ability to make structured and effective cold calls through to closing.
– Strong organisational and administrative skills.
– IT and computer literate.
– Strong tenacity and work ethic.
– Team player.
– Language (French or German) an advantage but not essential.

If you have sufficient energy and drive to succeed in this fast-paced environment and if you can communicate effectively at all levels, we can offer an excellent package including a substantial salary, plus a generous commission with OTE of approx. £55,000.

Circa £32-£40,000 plus generous commission, plus contributory pension.
