Job Description

Our client require an experienced piping & layout designer to work on a project’s in the pharmaceutical, chemical and food and beverage industries. The role will be predominantly based in the clients offices located in Stockport, Manchester with some commitment to site working.

The successful applicant will have previously worked “on site” with the ability to interface with clients and carry out site surveys / attend client meetings.

The main role will be the production of piping design deliverables such as

· 2D Plot plans

· 2D Plant layouts

· 3D Model Development

· Piping Isometrics


· Civil/Structural Requirement Drawings

· Pipe Support Details

· Mechanical Details

The ability to develop deliverables from a client brief and site surveys is essential. The applicant will need to be computer literate and proficient in the use of the following software:

· Microsoft Office

· AutoCAD Plant 3D

· AutoCAD 2D & 3D

· Navisworks

It would be advantageous if the applicant had a working knowledge of the following software:

AutoCAD Plant 3D Spec Editor
It would also be advantageous if the applicant had relevant safety qualification such as

CSCS Card or Equivalent
As the successful applicant will need to lead the piping & layout design element of the project and liaise directly with other project disciplines. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and able to work with minimal guidance, be commercially aware and can identify design issues and provide suitable solutions.

The role may involve some travel to visit client sites, however the role will be predominantly based in the clients Stockport offices. The applicant will need a full UK driving licence and use of their own vehicle.

The role is based on a standard 40-hr week, contract for 3 – 6 months duration with potential to extend. Early July start date for the successful applicant.

Pay rate is flexible to attract the right candidate. Travel expenses would be additional to the normal hourly rate.
