Part-Time Freight Forwarding Admin Support

My client, a leading global freight forwarder, is looking to recruit a part-time Ocean Export Administrator for its site in Basildon.

Role: Ocean Freight Assistant

Salary: competitive (on pro rata basis)

Hours: Part-time – Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9 am – 5.30 pm

Location: Basildon, Essex

Industry: Freight forwarding

We are looking for a

Ocean Exports/Freight Forwarding support to cover Admin duties as follows:

* Investigate/resolve all FND’s

* Carry out all bond checks and action as appropriate

* Investigate/resolve all exception reporting.

* Update received item details into Next Gen

* Full understanding of the warehouse processes

* Act as the bridge between the ops and the warehouse

* Follow strict and time sensitive SOP’s/KPI’s to ensure compliance

* Completion of end to end forwarding activities as the individual role requires for holiday/sickness cover

* Work closely with internal and external customers

* Focus on customer service

* Use of Next Gen/MS office as requested

* Ensure invoicing, job costing, CIA, Netting and milestone are updated within the required timeframe

* Month end department compliance

* Cost control

* Assist senior forwarders, Supervisor and line manager where required

* Ensure all reports including internal and customer specific are completed within the deadline

* Resolve queries from customers and suppliers

* Ensure Best Practice models are adopted

* Remain in contact with customers and suppliers to maintain relationships

* Assist sales and management with customer development

* Maintain clean desk policy

* Operate within companies QA system

* Any other tasks as directed by their Supervisor or line manager

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Knowledge of ocean freight

* Strong team player

* Attention to detail

* Good admin skills

* Stable employment history
