My client is one of the fastest growing SME logistics companies in Europe. Located near Dublin in Ireland. You will need to commute to Dublin once per week and then their is the ability to work on an hybrid model thereafter. They are now looking to expand their current Sea & Ocean Freight team by adding an Ocean Freight Manager to the team. The current office has around 145 members, with 23 specialising around Air & Ocean Freight Operations.
Description
As a Sea Freight Manager you will report into the EU Freight Director on a daily basis and manage a team of 15 expert ocean & sea freight forwarders. You will commute daily to the office based just outside of Dublin in Ireland. You will also have the following responsibilities:
Direct management of 15x ocean and sea freight experts
Engage and motivate the Freight Forwarding team through coaching, performance management and appraisal techniques.
Ensuring maximum operational effectively & efficiency across all aspects of the ocean freight operations
Ensuring the Department is meeting KPI's & budgetary requirements
Full responsibility of the management and development of the employees within the department. I.e. Performance management, Absenteeism, MPPs, disciplinary hearings with support of Branch Manager & HR Department. Ensuring that people resources within the department cover the department workloads. I.e. managing the leave calendar, desk holiday or sickness cover. First line of escalation or support. Interviews and new starter training. Apprentice mentorship. To hold monthly and/or weekly department meetings.
Ensure Standard Operating Procedures and Service Level Agreements are in place, and complied with, for all business handled by the branch.
Responsible to ensuring all relevant customer and supplier rate cards are filed with validity periods monitored and controlledProfile
The successful Sea Freight Manager will be commutable to Ireland, whilst also encompassing the following skills:
5+ years experience in Ocean & Sea Freight
Expert knowledge of Ocean & Sea Freight quotations, pricing, facilitation in the Irish Market
Customs knowledge across sea freight
Knowledge of all sea & ocean freight areas (bulk, breakbulk, LCL, FCL containers, RoRo, general cargo) Job Offer
