Position: Ocean Freight Forwarder (for a manufacturer)
Location: Salford
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 5pm Friday 8.30am – 4pm
Salary: (Negotiable) DOE

Knowing that great service matters they have an in-house freight and customs team and are currently looking for an experienced ocean freight forwarder to join the team.

The ideal candidate will have a high attention to detail and excellent account management skills. Experienced with import and export documentation as well as being able to complete customs entries is essential.

Key Role & Responsibilities:

Working closely with stakeholders to make initial bookings on a priority basis, and dealing with logistics issues as they arise.
Complete checks on documentation for imports & exports (supplier invoices, packing lists & all relevant accompanying documentation).
Administer and process documentation in line with business processes to support the movement of goods.
Maintain and update internal data sources to support the movement of goods and reporting.
Manage the businesses haulage requirements in consideration of the warehouse intake schedules.
Work closely with the warehouse teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of imported goods.
Maintain an understanding of the commercial and operational outcomes of decision making in relation to the planning of deliveries.
Maintain an understanding of trade and customs requirements for imports for each country the business trades with.
Take ownership for the movement of goods and provide feedback and recommendations to management where appropriate.
