Maritime Safety Engineer (Submarines)
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Maritime Safety Engineer to join their submarine safety team, working with world-class clients on complex, safety-critical programs. Whilst this role is primarily submarine engineering-focused, you will have the chance to use your skills and talents working across a diverse range of multi-disciplinary projects and industries.
Successful candidates will be degree educated in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other related disciplines and will have worked as a Maritime Safety Engineer, with some post graduate experience.
About The Role
As a Maritime Safety Engineer (Submarines) you will have the opportunity to join one of several teams providing expertise to the submarine enterprise with responsibilities including:
Helping the SSNR project stand up its Safety and Environmental Management System during concept phase, establishing the inaugural Safety Strategy, Safety and Design Principles and Safety Management Plan.
Provision of SME advice and independent review of whole boat safety case documentation.
Authoring Naval Authority Certification submissions for key hazard areas, helping ISM demonstrate compliance with the latest DSA03-DMR requirements.
Helping the MoD understand the safety implications of operating vessels in polar regions.
Provision of Quality Management advice to a commercial shipping company to support their development of a prototype shaft line design for a foreign Navy.

Job Title: Maritime Safety Engineer, Submarines Safety Engineer
Location: Office locations considered include Bristol, Plymouth, Glasgow and Warrington
Salary: £45,000 – 65,000 depending on experience
Due to the nature of work undertaken at our client's site, incumbents of these positions are required to meet special nationality rules and therefore these vacancies are only open to sole British Citizens. Applicants who meet these criteria will also be required to undergo security clearance vetting, if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
