Marine Operative


Detailed Roles and Responsibilities

Aid in the operation of boat movements efficiently, safely and reporting faults properly.
Deliver 5* customer service as per company policies.
In liaison with the maintenance department carry out routine repairs and maintenance duties.
Clean buildings (including washrooms/toilets when no cleaner is on duty), pontoons, water, quays and the marina site and workplaces in order to maintain a high standard of hygiene and appearance. Carry out pressure washing as required.
Carry out daily, weekly and monthly inspections.
Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and keep proper records.
Comply with the marina regulations regarding dress and expected behaviour, reflecting the highest standards.
Carry out all other duties reasonably required for the smooth running of the marina and also assist other marina staff in carrying out their duties.Key skills & Experience

Able to work with responsibility in safety critical situations.
Demonstrate excellent customer service experience or an appreciation of the requirements in customer facing situations.
Able to work as part of a small team or alone, when required.
Computer literacy, including MS Office applications and online platforms.
Experience in a similar role in another marina would be advantageous but full training and qualifications will be provided.
Experience or an appreciation of boat manoeuvring would be an advantage.

The role includes working outdoors in all weathers and will require flexibility with varying start and finish times during busy periods and will include working some weekends and bank/public holidays as part of a shift rota.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
* The ability to carry out basic maintenance tasks to a high standard of the company's internal and external areas including equipment, buildings, landscaped areas and pontoons.
* The ability to understand and deliver excellent customer service.
* Flexibility and adaptability to both marina and maintenance operations.
* Ability to learn and use basic computer software systems.
* "A can do" attitude and flexible approach to team work


Previous experience would be a major advantage but training, where required, will be given. A full diving license is essential.

The successful candidate will provide safe and efficient marina berthing operations and the very best service to our customers. They will ensure that the marina facilities and equipment are well maintained and help ensure customer's boats are safe and secure.

The role will suit a team player who can understand customer needs and provide a high level of service. The successful candidate will be required to work with responsibility & initiative to contribute to our efficient marina operations.

The role is based on site at the marina. The normal working hours will be 37.5hrs per week, and may include some weekends and bank holidays and some flexibility with start and end times when tide times dictate. The salary is competitive with the additional benefits of staff discount in our restaurant, on site parking and pension
