Leading Independent Environmental Consultancy seeks an experienced Marine Fisheries Senior Consultant.
About the role:
Are you currently a marine fisheries specialist who has gained consultancy experience? Perhaps you come from a regulatory body or academic background and want to develop your experience within a world class consultancy.
With the support of Our Client's highly experienced fisheries team you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of tendering and project activity including fisheries survey design, stakeholder and client engagement, data review/data collation and data analysis and interpretation.
You will have a good understanding of marine ecology assessment requirements and will provide expert input into a wide range of marine ecological assessments (e.g. scoping reports, EIA, HRA reports, WFD assessments).
You will ideally have experience of the marine power sector with a good knowledge of the requirements for power station and renewable power (tidal and offshore wind) development assessments including fish entrapment, fish screening and noise and vibration interpretation.
You will be encouraged to attend or present at conferences / events and undertake training to develop your skills, giving you the chance to influence how we best meet our client needs in a growing and ever-changing market.
Skills and experience:
You will ideally have the following experience:
Sc. or Ph.D. in marine ecology or related discipline
Understanding of relevant marine policy/legislation
Ability to organise and coordinate marine fisheries surveys
Coordination, completion and review of fish and shellfisheries chapters of impact assessments (including HRA, EIA)
Excellent client engagement skills
In addition, you will have
Excellent communication and reporting skills
Extensive use of Word and Excel
Proficiency in GIS software packages would be advantageous
