My client based in North West region are one of the best, reputable Nautical Schools in the UK, attracting students and trainee navy cadets from all around the World – with a graduate employment rate of 100% this is an exceptional place to be a part of. The team are looking for a knowledgeable Marine Engineering tutor to join their expanding department.
The role is an entry level teaching position- meaning no previous experience of teaching necessary- they will teach you how to teach! Having the confidence and willingness to do so however has to come from within the applicant. It will be teaching: marine engineering technologies (such as propulsion, auxiliary systems and pneumatics and hydraulics), and ship construction and stability subjects (such as ship construction and survey and naval architecture). It is important to the role to have knowledge of naval architecture (ship construction, stability etc).
What is required from you?
-A relevant level 5 academic qualification (Foundation Degree, HND, Advanced Diploma etc), or higher, and an Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW) Certificate of Competency (CoC), or Second or Chief Engineer CoC.
-(IF you dont have the industry CoC, but have the academic qual specific to Marine Engineering, with a focus on Naval Architecture, this this will be considered as well)
– Training or teaching experience is not mandatory but a ‘wanting to’ and a ‘can do’ attitude is
– To live close enough to commute every day- however there is a generous relocation package.
