Freight Transport Coordinator

Our client is a freight forwarding specialist who offers freight solutions by road, rail, sea and air through there many offices worldwide as well as through there solid network of agents and partners.

We are now looking for a Transport Coordinator to join the freight team at their Manchester office in Trafford Park.

My client has just been awarded a new contract from an existing customer to take over the domestic transport from one of their UK sites, they already have a haulage partner in place but are looking for an additional Transport Coordinator to help with the extra workload

This will involve arranging multiple deliveries from the site to various factories all over the UK.

The role will involve

Receiving and checking EDI
Liaising with customer
Booking in with delivery points
Liaising with haulier
Arranging 'express' deliveries
Keeping detailed records
Supplying PODs

Full training will be given but we are looking for someone with experience of handling UK haulage.

Salary around 24/26k depending on experience
There may be some need for out of hours or weekend 'on-call' work where overtime will be paid
