Freight Forwarder

My Client is a Hampshire based Wholesaler of branded fast moving consumer goods, (FMCG) mainly in the categories of toiletries and household goods. They supply many customers around the UK and Europe, into multiple supermarket groups, discount chains, wholesalers.

Due to rapid expansion, a position has become available to add in a Logistics Coordinator with a Freigh tForwarding background to manage the growing number of orders within the business, with customers regularly ordering in multiple full and part truck quantities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Freight Forwarder, Logistics Coordinator or Transport Planner with knowledge of Post-Brexit Customs processes to join this growing team on a permanent basis.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

* Organising the logistics of getting the goods from supplier, to our warehouse and through to the final customer

* Liaising with the supplier, once our Operations department have sent a PO, to arrange a collection or delivery

* Liaising with haulage brokers to receive quotes for the movement of goods, transit times, delivery schedules etc

* Liaising with various warehousing units to take delivery of our stock, ensuring all expected costs have been taking into consideration

* Booking in onwards deliveries with our customers once the initial collection or delivery from the supplier has been organised

* Collating orders together from various suppliers and customers in the most cost effective and efficient way

* Ensuring invoices from haulage and warehousing companies match the rates on our rate card and sent to us on time

* Managing UK-EU exports and imports, with either customs agents or bringing in an element inhouse

* Filling in 'new line forms' to our customers, which includes all the logistical data of the products being sold, so we can receive the PO and arrange the order

Skills & Experience required:

* Be comfortable working in a small but ambitious team

* Be able to self-motivate and take ownership of their job role (they will be one leading this department)

* Have experience within the logistics and supply chain market (ideally in the FMCG sector) and be comfortable with terms like packing lists, delivery notes, export documents, incoterms, RH&D etc

* Have experience in a fast-paced environment, where the importance of organising and moving goods so imperative in the supply chain

* Be extremely well organised and able to handle 30-40 transactions a month, updating the rest of the team frequently

* Have good commercial awareness and understand the costs associated with logistics, working with the team to make each orders as profitable as it can be.

Duration: Permanent

Salary: £28,000 – £32,000

Hours: Full-Time Monday – Friday

Start: Notice Dependant
