Our client is a European and worldwide time critical and freight forwarding service operating on a 24-hour basis. They are the UK arm of the largest and most successful group in Europe, specialising in time critical logistics with offices in 18 countries.
We are now recruiting for a Freight Forwarding Customer Service Agent based in the MIOC building near the Airport.
The methods of transportation used include dedicated aircraft and helicopter charter, on board courier service, express airfreight and dedicated vehicles.
The service is open 24 hours per day / 365 days per year.
Role Overview
Working within our operations team you will take calls from clients, analyse the delivery options open to them, cost out these options and respond to the client, detailing your recommendations and timings.
Once the client has given the go – ahead, it will be your responsibility to arrange the necessary transportation to ensure that the deadline agreed is achieved. This means working closely with our partners in the UK and our other offices throughout Europe ensuring complete monitoring from door to door.
Training
You will be trained in all aspects of the role including the use of our in house systems.
Working Hours
Normal office hours are 9.00 – 17.30 however our business does not stop outside these hours, so we work on a rota system that you will be part of which covers morning, evenings and occasional weekends and bank holidays that are paid additionally.
Requirements
You will have some experience of road and or air transport services. A keen eye for detail and accuracy is important as well as the ability to be productive while in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills with colleagues as well as shippers and carriers, is essential for success in this position.
Benefits
Salary £23,000 to £25,000 including shift allowance
