My client is an international importer and distributor of a broad range of goods for the retail sector and has enjoyed considerable growth over the last 2 years and as a consequence they are looking to strengthen their Freight department.
They are looking to recruit a number of Freight Clerks with experience within this sector and as an accomplished import or export administrator you will be involved in obtaining quotes from hauliers for shipping costs for each order and booking with the most applicable one whilst issuing Customs Barcodes for hauliers to allow passage via the Dover Calais smart Border Crossing.
Other key responsibilities will include compiling electronic files required for the French intrastat report, which include import declarations, CMR’s or PODs and haulier invoices and checking and lodging additional documentation for items with import controls, to the appropriate regulatory body within the regulated time frame and in the format required including the completion of CHEDS and PDDs.
As a Freight Administrator you will have a sound knowledge of all relevant freight documentation and procedures and a good appreciation of customs operations.
Confidence with excel is also important. This an excellent opportunity to join a growing business that offers ongoing training and career progression.
