Job Title: Crane Service / Offshore Field Engineer

Premier Engineering has engaged with a key client who specialise in overhead electric travel cranes and hoists. Due to continued and sustainable growth they are looking for a Service engineer on a permanent basis.
Purpose:
To provide technical support in the installation and commissioning, inspection, fault-finding and repair (mechanical and electrical) of cranes and hoists both on-site, at third party sites and offshore.
Main Accountabilities:
Is a member of a small team of service technicians carrying out a range of electrical/mechanical tasks, generally at height on and off-shore co-ordinated by a technical Co-Ordinator.
Carries out installation activities of cranes and hoists on and off- shore.
Undertakes crane and hoist surveys and inspections completing physical/digital documentation and liaising as
Undertakes fault finding and completes the necessary documentation.
Completes repairs (electrical / mechanical) on cranes and
Completes refurbishment projects at the site workshop and at other third-party sites as
Assists with the assembly of customised chain hoists and other assigned tasks when assigned to site-based
With no two days the same, embraces powerful time management and organisational tools and task prioritisation
Works well within a layered team of colleagues, clients and client appointed third
Adherence to all legal requirements, to the Company Quality and Environmental Management Systems (QMS/EMS), the H & S policy and its procedures and actively participates in continuous health and safety compliance / improvement
Other ad-hoc duties commensurate with the grade of the
Is responsible for assigned technical and operational tasks/duties.
Plays an important part in ensuring our safety culture is maintained via safe and approved working
Technical/Professional Experience:
Demonstrable experience working with overhead electric travel cranes and hoists
Demonstrable experience with explosion protected electrical equipment desired (COMPEX certification preferable)
Knowledge/Qualifications/Requirements:
Recognised electrical qualification (preferably gained via a time served apprenticeship)
Health & Safety qualification
Full, clean driving licence
S. competencies in M/S Office suite
Good grasp of English language (verbal & written)
Strong communicator with the ability to interact at all levels
Good general fitness and ability to work at height and in confined spaces
Willingness to undertake additional training to meet offshore eligibility criteria
Willingness to work additional and sometimes unsociable hours and work away from home
Requirement for regular domestic and international travel, often working at offshore locations
