Cargo Agent

We're looking for a talented Cargo Agent to work for our client in Heathrow area.

They want to recruit someone with demonstrable experience of freight forwarding.

If that's you then you could be exactly what they're looking for.

Please note:  In this position you'll be needed to work at weekends and work shifts in unsociable hours. Full details of how this will work will be revealed at interview.

The Role:
Reporting to the Office Team Leader and based in the company's Heathrow Airport office, as the Cargo Agent you will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, strong work ethic, works well in a team and Strong leadership skills

The standard working hours for this position
4 on 4 off days only
4on 4 off nights only
4 on 4 off (2days 2nights 0700 – 1900 & 1900 – 0700)

The Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this Office Team Leader role will have relevant experience of freight forwarding. 

ABS working knowledge desirable.
The ability to work on own initiative, often under pressure.
Positive attitude to rapid changing environment.
Self-motivation.
Good team player.
Good customer service skills both on the telephone and in person.
Good written and verbal communication skills being able to provide clear and accurate figures and information to other departments and customers.

Duties

Process drivers on the cargo reception who may be delivering and/or collecting cargo.
Using designated software and appropriate paperwork to correctly process import and export shipments in accordance with company, customs, and CAA regulations.
Use designated software to build and depart export flights and road freight trucks.
To communicate both verbally and electronically accurate cargo flight figures to Load Control for flight planning.
To provide and maintain a high level of service and accuracy in processing the movement of cargo in line with company and airline requirements.
To check Dangerous Goods shipments as per the current DGR (full training provided)
To answer phone calls and emails as needed.
To be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work
To complete any other such reasonable duties at the request of Management. 
The ideal person for the role will be the following:
– Highly accountable & reliable
– Able to provide 5 years work history (gaps over 28 days need a gap reference)(obtained for you by us!)
– Prepared to undergo a UK criminal check
